Dr. Brian Anderson has been with Bechtel Physical Therapy longer than anyone except Terri Bechtel. Brian received his Bachelor of Science degree (with honors) in Physical Therapy from California State University, Northridge. His Doctorate in Physical Therapy is from the University of Saint Augustine (run by the world renowned physical therapy researchers and educators Stanley Paris and Catherine Patla).

Dr. Anderson is certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy by the American Physical Therapy Association’s Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He is also certified in Manual Physical Therapy by the University of Saint Augustine.

Brian Anderson specializes in sports related disorders of the shoulder and knee. His Capstone project (which is akin to most doctoral dissertations) concerned the implementation of scapular exercises to rehabilitate injuries of the overhead throwing athlete.

Brian has studied extensively with most of the major writers, educators and clinicians practicing orthopedic physical therapy in the developed world. He is well versed in all aspects of manual orthopedic Physical Therapy and utilizes many cutting edge techniques and modalities in his practice. (The initials after his name mean: Physical Therapist, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Orthopedic Certified Specialist and Manual Therapy Certified.)

Brian is married and has a daughter who is a Physical Therapist, too. (Good genes!) He is an avid tennis player and mountain biker.
